Malaya Garnet

The pyrope and spessartite garnets are combined to form the Malaya variant of the garnet family. These garnets, primarily mined in Tanzania, could not be classified into previous garnet categories, which earned them the Swahili nickname of "Malaya", meaning outcast. Thanks to the new classification, these garnets have found a new place to display themselves on the global stage.
