Cuprian Tourmaline

Copper tourmaline is specific to the country of Mozambique. These tourmalines have distinctive characteristics due to their chemical composition, which includes copper and manganese. This results in very unusual and exquisite colors, known as copper elbaite. If the copper content of these tourmalines meets the standards set by reputable laboratories worldwide, they are sometimes called Paraiba tourmalines.
